What if I’m told my car is a write-off?
A write-off (also known as a ‘total loss’), is when repairs would cost more than the market value of the vehicle. So if you’ve been told your car is a write-off, then we’ll contact you to discuss your claim and next steps.
The decision to write-off a vehicle is made because either:
• The repairs are likely to cost close to, or more than, the market value of the vehicle.
• The repairs aren't possible because of the type or extent of the damage.
• The vehicle has been stolen and not found.
