What is trace and access?

Trace and access means finding the source of a water or oil leak that's causing damage.

You are covered for any necessary and reasonable costs for replacing or repairing any of the following that are removed or damaged during the search:

However, not all damages are covered, including but not limited to:

Damage that happens while your home is unoccupied or unfurnished.
Loss or damage to pitch fibre drains (commonly installed from the 1940s to the 1970s) caused by defects in the design, material, construction, or installation.
Repairs to the source of the leak, unless it's covered in another part of the policy.

Please note that your escape of water excess will also apply to trace and access claims.
