How do I cancel my policy?

We're sorry you're thinking of cancelling your insurance and we’re always here if you need us in the future. Before you go, we just want to make you aware of a few other options:

If you want to cancel or you've found a better quote elsewhere
If you have a single car policy, you can cancel your policy online. Simply go to the home screen of our app and choose ‘Message Us’ to start your conversation.

If you don't have the app, you can find other ways to contact us here. If you'd like to talk to us about a quote from another insurer, just make a note of the excess and any benefits on your new quote, so then we can find you a like-for-like policy.

If you do go ahead and cancel your policy, it’s important to remember the following:

 

  • You’ll lose this year’s no claims discount.
  • If you pay monthly, you may have to pay an outstanding balance.
  • There may also be a cancellation fee to pay.
  • You will need to pay for any time you've been insured by us and for any non-refundable fees you paid when you bought your policy. We'll then send you a letter confirming your cancellation.

 

If you need to change your details


You might not need to cancel your policy (and potentially pay a cancellation fee). Instead, you can get a quote for updating your current policy details online.

How to make a change:

  • Log in and choose the policy you want to change.
  • Select the change you want to make and add your new information.
  • You'll be given a quote, which includes any change to your total price and any fees you need to pay.
  • Select ‘Accept quote’ if you want to go ahead. If the change you’re making causes your total price to go down, you'll be due a refund. Or if your price has gone up, you can choose how to pay.
  • If you don't want to carry on, simply select ‘Cancel quote’ (don’t forget, you do need to tell us if your details have changed as you may not be covered if you need to make a claim).

Just let us know before your renewal date by calling us on 0333 321 9790 (our opening hours are here). We'd love you to stay with us so if you do get a better quote, call us with the details and we'll try our best to match it.

Already cancelled? How to find proof of your no claims discount


You can get this in the 'Documents 'section of your account by choosing ‘Get NCD’. Alternatively, you’ll also find it in your cancellation letter.
