What happens if I cancel my direct debit?
As part of your credit agreement with us, if you pay by instalments, you must have an active Direct Debit set up for the whole time you have a policy with us. If you cancel your Direct Debit, we'll email you and ask you to set this back up online in our app or MyAccount.
If you don't reinstate your Direct Debit, then unfortunately we'll cancel your policy. If your policy is cancelled, you'll still need to pay for the time you've been insured by us, plus any unpaid interest and our cancellation fee. You'll also need to declare this for all future insurance policies.
Please be aware that if your policy is set to automatic renewal, cancelling your Direct Debit will not stop your policy from automatically renewing.
