Am I insured to drive another car?
This cover only applies if you have a car policy. To find out if you're insured to drive other cars, you can check your details page in MyAccount. You’ll also find this information in your Motor Insurance Certificate. It's in the ‘Documents’ section of our app and MyAccount, or in any documents you’ve received from us.
To download your Motor Insurance Certificate, please log in and go to the ‘Documents’ section. Your most recent set of documents will have your current Motor Insurance Certificate. These documents might be titled:
- 'Your Welcome Pack'.
- 'Thanks for renewing your policy'.
- 'We've made changes to your policy'.
What driving other cars means for you
If your Motor Insurance Certificate says you're insured to drive other cars, here’s some really important information to remember. If you have an accident while driving someone else's car (with their permission), this means you are insured for the damage caused to others – this is what’s called a third party claim. You won't be insured for any damage to the car you're driving.
You can find out more about what is and isn’t included here.
If you need to get in touch after an incident
You can make a claim or report an incident, you can do this in our app or online.
If you’re not covered for driving other cars
If you don’t have driving other cars cover, then you are not insured to drive another car. Just so you know, this is not a cover we allow customers to add on.
To make managing your insurance even easier, our new Messenger service will soon be available to all customers in our app (some customers can already use it). To message us directly, just look for the ‘Message us’ option in our app.
You can message us at any time, then go about your day and we'll let you know when we've replied. Otherwise, visit our ‘Contact us’ page for details of how to get in touch.
